Allergy & Asthma Network PSAs: Support Healthier Lives Through Better Asthma Control
Approximately 28 million people in the United States have asthma, yet many do not have the condition under control. They may accept having frequent symptoms, rely too often on quick-relief inhalers, or wake up at night struggling to breathe. Poor asthma control can lead to frequent ER trips, hospitalizations, and preventable deaths.
In addition, asthma affects African American/Black and Hispanic/Latino communities at higher rates than other population groups.
Allergy & Asthma Network is dedicated to ensuring people living with asthma access clear, trusted health information. We seek your support in airing our PSAs. Together we can raise awareness about a critical but often overlooked issue: asthma control.
We offer a series of television and radio PSAs with leading asthma specialists from across the United States. The spots help patients and caregivers understand when asthma symptoms are not under control.
The PSAs encourage viewers and listeners to:
• Recognize when asthma symptoms are not well controlled.
• Speak with an allergy and asthma specialist.
• Visit ControlYourAsthma.org to gain a better understanding of asthma.
By airing these PSAs, you will:
• Show that good asthma control helps people breathe well and live without limits.
• Help reduce asthma-related ER trips, hospitalizations, and deaths in your community.
Thank you for considering this important public health message.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Wilson
